SUMMARY:Open Days 2017 - 15th European Week of Regions and Cities
DESCRIPTION:In 2017\, the European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC 2017) will reach its 15th birthday. It is a moment of both looking back and looking forward\, whilst tackling the challenges that the EU regional and urban policy should be addressing\, as of today\, and over the coming years. \nSCIROOCO is engaged via the session Meeting the Challenge of Ageing: “Putting the Citizens at the Heart of Integrated Care in Europe” that takes place  Tuesday\, 10 October 2017\, 11.15 – 13.00 CET at the Scotland House Conference Center\, Rond Point Schuman\, 6\, 1040 Brussels [download agenda] \nThis EWRC 2017 event will showcase the work of a number of regions involved in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) – a unique example of a partnership voluntarily-bringing together a wide range of regions\, industries\, research institutions\, and end-user organisations committed to innovating for European citizens’ needs\, by addressing a triple win: health and quality of life; sustainable and efficient care systems; and growth and the expansion of EU industry in line with the Commission’s priorities in jobs\, growth and investment\, as well as the digital transformation of health and care. \nThe session will stimulate discussion with policymakers and practitioners; share regional experience in developing and implementing innovative approaches to integrated care solutions\, and reaching out to other regions to accelerate their journey towards innovative systems to meet future demands. \nMain messages of the Scirocco event:  \n\nPutting citizens at the heart of integrated care can unlock the potential of innovation and build the capacities of European regions to address the challenge of ageing.\nImplementation and scaling up of integrated care solutions requires understanding and readiness of the environment that would enable adoption of these solutions.\nAssessing the readiness of a system of care to innovate e.g. with integrated care\, helps to build resilience in regions and cities.

SUMMARY:Change Management as a Success Factor in the Implementation\, Scaling Up and Transfer of Digital Health & Social Care Solutions (at AAATE 2017)
DESCRIPTION:SCIROCCO contributes to a satellite event on change management as success factor for scaling-up at AAATE2017 and will present the Maturity Model as a tool to manage systemic changes in health and care systems:\n“Successful deployment requires deep changes in the ways of working of people\, and organisations together with new care recipient relationships. In this seminar\, we will assess some of the success factors related to organisational change and how these factors have been managed during the up-scaling and transfer of successful experiences. We will also look at tools that can help to understand how to support implementation\, scalability and transferability of digital health and care solutions in the UK and in Europe. We will focus on experiences of person-centred technology deployment that are supporting care recipients in their self-management and independence\, including remote monitoring.” \nSatellite Event Sessions: \n\nThe digital transformation of the health and social care sector: opportunities and challenges\nChange management as a factor for success\nIncluding change management in your project strategy\nAssess Readiness for Integrated Care\n\nThe Satellite Event on Change Management is bookable via the University of Sheffield\, fee £176.00 (or follow the event link) \nMain messages delivered by SCIROCCO will be \n\nThe SCIROCCO tool can help us to better understand the contextual requirements necessary for the adoption and transferability of the integrated care solutions.\, including the change management solutions.\nIt can also can help to facilitate the systematic changes in a health and care system necessary for the adoption of integrated care.\n\nThe 2017 AAATE Congress is a 5-day event about Assistive Technologies and will take place from 11-15th September 2017. The main Conference will be from 13-14th September and Satellite Events are running on the other three days (11-12th and 15th) at venues in Sheffield (UK). The 2017 Congress will address the global challenge of meeting the needs of the increasing number of people who could benefit from Assistive Technology. The congress will add to its usual breadth a focus on the translational research agenda. The programme will include contributions on topical subjects such as dementia\, care robotics\, universal design\, sport and disordered speech.

SUMMARY:From bespoke to ‘off-the-shelf’ technologies: supporting the delivery of integrated care services
DESCRIPTION:Objective: This plenary session will showcase innovative solutions that are designed to address the key challenges associated with delivering integrated care services to promote the health and wellbeing of our ageing population. It will draw on the B3 Action Group members’ commitments to EIP on AHA to illustrate the wide range of ICT that is being deployed in regions across Europe. \nMain messages \n\nCitizens are increasingly choosing to use technologies and applications in their personal lives that can deliver personalised care and support.\nThere is growing evidence of ICT solutions supporting individuals holistically rather than addressing their single diseases or needs.\n\nBackground Information: The B3 Action Group on Integrated Care was established in 2012 to develop a response to the challenges set by the Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership for Healthy and Active Ageing (EIP on AHA).\nwww.ec.europa.eu/eip/ageing/home_en

SUMMARY:Scaling Integrated Care in Europe – What does it take?
DESCRIPTION:More tools are needed that can help us to understand how to move towards more sustainable health and care systems\, and how to support implementation\, scalability and transferability of integrated care solutions in Europe. \nThe objective of this workshop is to explore the SCIROCCO tool’s potential to facilitate exchanges of good practice and the scaling-up of active and healthy ageing solutions in Europe. The workshop will demonstrate the development\, validation and testing of the tool. It will show how the tool will build on the results of its application to 15 good practices in integrated care in five European regions. It will provide a unique opportunity to gain a more detailed insight into the parameters of the SCIROCCO online tool \nMain messages \n\nThe SCIROCCO tool can help you to scale up your integrated care/active and healthy ageing solutions.\nLooking at example good practices can help you understand integrated care in your own region.\nScaling up of integrated care requires understanding of the context in which successful practice emerges.

SUMMARY:WoHIT 2016 Conference and Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The new HIMSS Europe World of Health IT (WoHIT) Conference & Exhibition will be taking place on 21–22 November 2016 in Barcelona\, Spain. The event will gather top European healthcare stakeholders and will be the meeting point for the entire eHealth ecosystem. \nThrough a number of educational sessions with the most experienced speakers to learn from\, together with a series of workshops\, hospital tours and an interactive exhibition floor\, this unique event addresses best practices\, practical solutions and cutting edge developments in eHealth. \nWoHIT 2016 encompasses five main summits: \n\nThe CIO Summit addresses the real challenges and issues that hospital C-Suite executives face on a daily basis. You’ll be able to share success stories\, exchange knowledge and experiences\, and also benefit from a dedicated Hospital Tour.\nThe mHealth Summit\, which combines a full educational track and a dedicated area on the exhibition floor\, intends to answer the burning questions around mHealth: who should be driving and paying for mHealth? How can we unite all patient data to accomplish personalised care?\nThe Cybersecurity Summit will be the first of its kind in a European setting. Cyber threats are becoming more apparent and can no longer be ignored: how are we going to tackle them in a healthcare context? The educational track and interactive exhibition space intend to address these questions amongst many others.\nOur first ever Genomics Summit will review recent developments in Genetic Health and will address key topics which are essential in the development of healthcare.
